You'll feel the spacious surroundings in the Wellington Inn to be a comfort during your stay here. You have the ability to walk about unwatched as you explore the amazing detail in historic design in each room. If you ever wanted to stay in a museum-like history setting with all of modern comforts of great plumbing, fluffy towels and comfortable beds and linens that are hand ironed, this is the place. And the breakfasts are fantastic. The Wellington was built in the late 1800's
by businessman William Cary Hull who was the son of the prosperous founder of the Oval Wood Dish Company, the largest employer in the area at the time. Once the lumber industry in Michigan declined, the company moved to New York state, after which the home fell on hard times and was divided into a four-family unit and vacant for many years. In 1999, the home was restored by Barb and Hank Rishel who did extensive renovation and turned it into a landmark Bed & Breakfast. The Wellington now includes 9 unique bedrooms each with an historic story that relates to the original Hull home. The home and bedrooms have many antiques and upscale amenities. The amazing historic detail and the decor within each room is impeccable including the stenciled painted walls throughout the three story mansion. Children 12 and older are welcome. Many business meeting, events and weddings are held at the Wellington Inn Two bedroom suites in the Carriage House are well designed in 1940's French Country linens, dishware, furniture, and art in one and 1930's Art Deco in the other. A real treasure and wonderful place for a one week stay in the summer or shorter weekend / daily stays possible in the Fall, Winter and Spring months of the year. Don't miss these as these rooms are among the best on the entire property.
