The six.one.six makes dining in Michigan an outstanding experience. First opening in 2007 with the opening of the exclusive JW Marriott - Grand Rapids along the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids, the six.one.six adds another notch in an impressive array of restaurants located in this part of Michigan along Michigan's West Coast.
Grand Rapids brings a new simplicity to creating food where every ingredient is tasted and enjoyed. The fresh-to-table expertise of the six.one.six brings repeated oohs and ahhs from dining patrons who delight in each flavor described on the menu. Six.one.Six features locally grown foods and creative dishes with a seasonally changing menu to take advantage of locally grown and produced vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses and honey. They serve wonderful apps and salads and perfectly prepared fish, poulty, beef, and pork as well as gourmet flatbreads, my favorite. Guests are also entertained if they choose the Chef's Laboratory where young chefs prepare appetizers, salads and flatbreads while patrons watch them cook. The six.one.six can easily be called a premiere "destination" restaurant. The view from Mixology, the contemporary cocktail lounge with floor to ceiling windows, and the warm weather Jdek overlooking the Grand River gives the charming restaurant even more reasons to come. The j dek is "the place" to be during warmer weather. As a romantic location or a group gathering place six.one.six will not disappoint - Service is excellent and guests are made to feel very special.
Awesome dinner: 5 stars. Must try their cheese platter--they paired each cheese with something unusual (e.g. figs, etc) and each pairing brought out the flavor in the cheese. GREAT experience! Chris - Grand Rapids, MI April 2009
